Celebrating Success in 2025-2026 CIF Results

The Department for Education confirmed the outcome of the 2025 to 2026 Condition Improvement Fund (CIF). This year, almost £470 million will be allocated in capital grants to support 789 successful projects across 656 education institutions.
We’re proud to share that ECP has once again achieved significant success with our CIF bids, securing funding for multiple projects, including the only expansion (new-build) project awarded nationally — a standout achievement in this year’s highly competitive round.
The Outcome in Numbers
This year’s CIF round saw 2,846 bids submitted by 1,868 eligible academies, sixth-form colleges, and voluntary-aided schools. With only 789 bids approved, just 28% of applicants were successful, highlighting how competitive the process remains.
While the overall funding pot increased by 5% compared to last year, the average project value rose by around 20%. This resulted in fewer projects being funded, but with a focus on larger-scale improvements.
Thanks to our successful outcomes, ECP will be managing over 30 active projects this summer. Some of which have already started ahead of the school term ending. We’re well prepared for a busy few months ahead, supporting schools across the region with vital upgrades and developments.
