Bushy Meads School
The project scope includes the conversion and extension to an existing teaching block to provide a Specialist Resource Provision Unit (1 of 4 in the borough). It is part of a Hertfordshire CC’s initiative to improve facilities within mainstream secondary schools for students with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), including social communication difficulties such as autism.
We’ve approached the design of the scheme to ensure that we can make best use of the existing building and provide the expansion area with minimal impact to the current structure. The solution provides a dedicated reception to the SRP spaces and provision of a new staircase to first floor giving the required separation from the mainstream timetabled spaces.
